Two SSCC members, Elaine Kemp and Mal Smith, just
returned from a trip to Bowling Green, KY, home of the
Corvette, and Nashville, home of country
music. They packed in a visit to the
National Corvette Museum and the Corvette manufacturing
plant, both of which were highlights. Mal had
never been to Bowling Green and loved it as much as
Elaine does. They made a killing in closeout
Corvette attire in the Museum, too, which made it even
nicer! Unfortunately, there was no sign of any
new ZR1 being constructed, so they don't have anything
to report on that new model.
They stayed at the fabulous Opryland Hotel...2,880
rooms...and even ran into country singing star, Kenny
Chesney while there. Mal and Elaine took a
fabulous tour of the city of Nashville, visited the
famous Ryman Theater, the Grand Ole Opry, the
Country Music Hall of Fame, as well as many other
points of interest. If anyone stays in Nashville,
you must do that! Their favorite place is
probably the Wildhorse Saloon, though...huge dance
floor, full of country western dancers and, oh, those
cowboys!! Ask Mal what she did at the Coyote
Ugly!!
This could very well become an annual venture for these
two Corvette country dancers.
