The South Shore Corvette Club has since its inception made charitable donations to local causes. In the last few years, our focus has been to support local food pantries. In 2009, our members began to bring food donations to each of our monthly meetings. This purely voluntary effort has provided food pantries in the South shore area with a monthly donation of food and other non perishable items. Each month, a local pantry in the area is the recipient of the donation.
Massachusetts House of Representative Honors the South Shore Corvette Club
On March 25, 2010, Speaker of the House Robert Deleo signed a declaration honoring the South Shore Corvette Club for their outstanding generosity and support for the Marshfield Community Food Pantry. The SSCC has for the last two years, conducted a program where at each monthly meeting, the members of the club are asked to bring a non perishable item to the meeting. Each month a town is chosen from all the towns represented by our members.

A member then takes the collected goods and delivers it to their local food pantry. Although we ask for a single item, many members bring bags and sometimes entire boxes of items. This has been one of our most rewarding projects. Pictured above is long time member and Marshfield resident, Andy Wening presenting the certificate to SSCC president Terry Partridge. In addition to the monthly food donation, the club also presents a cash donation to 10 South Shore food pantries during the holiday season.
The philosophy of the SSCC philanthropy is that we wish to work with local agencies, especially ones that are volunteer staffed. This way, 100% of the club’s donations go directly to the needy.
