Newport, Rhode Island

This year's SSCC Shakedown Cruise returns to beautiful, historic Newport, Rhode Island. AS in the past, all Corvette owners are welcome on this trip. We will be departing from the Building 19 Parking lot on Route 18 in Weymouth, MA at 9:30 am Sunday morning May, 4th. Our second location will be the Burger King Service Plaza on Route 24 south. We will be leaving the Burger King at approximately 10:00 am.

The third location is in Fall River at A J Wright, 83 Mariano Bishop Blvd. We should be arriving at approximately 11:00 leaving the at 11:30. We then have about a 45 minute ride through scenic Middletown past the beaches arriving at the Atlantic beach club approximately 12:30.

If you are a returning visitor to Newport or if this will be your first time you will be delighted with what Newport has to offer.

For those whose heart lies in architecture, design, and history Newport offers tours of opulent mansions, interesting museums, and a number of walking tours that reveal the history and charm of the city.

For a mouth-watering experience, you can enjoy a tour and tasting at the three local vineyards followed by a memorable dining experience at a waterfront restaurant.

If you are looking to take a bit of Newport style home with you, the city’s quaint wharves and cobblestone streets are a mix of unique shops and galleries.
